Go the Extra mile

An important principle of success in all walks of life and in all occupations is a willingness to ” Go The Extra Mile “; which means the rendering of more and better service than that for which one is paid, and giving it in a positive mental attitude. Search wherever you will for a single sound argument against this principle and you will not find it, nor will you find a single instance of enduring success, which was not attained in part by its application. We would love to share a story with you and we hope you will in some small way benefit from this story… Sometime last year, I was working as a barber somewhere on the Island. It was a hectic Friday and at 5:55 pm (5 minutes before closing), this man walked in. I told him that we already closed (shame on me). Happy Worker’s Day – How the BI Empowerment Team Celebrated Worker’s Day

We hope it’s not too late to wish you a ‘Happy Worker’s Day’. It was Worker’s day on the 1st of May and we felt the need to celebrate. The BI Empowerment team were invited to join the Africa Basketball League(ABL)  at their Worker’s Day Basketball games on the 2nd of May, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island. Lagos.  ABL are partners with BI Empowerment and they have generously supported us in the past, by providing free regular tickets for our graduates to attend their games. This time, they offered the entire BI Empowerment team, VIP tickets to celebrate Worker’s day. We will like to use this medium to say a big thank you to ABL . Two matches were fixed for the day and I arrived the venue at about 6.00pm with Tokunbo Fasoro, Stanley Awelewa of BI Empowerment and Pelagie Egbane, a very good friend of the BI Empowerment team. The first match kicked off, it was against the Stallions and the Warriors and it was a very competitive match.  The highlight of the game was when the Warriors made a basket during the final minute of the game, this sent the match to overtime. After a long battle, amidst sweat, shouts ...

Well done GTBANK – the Food and Drink Fair was a Blast

I got a message from GTBank inviting me for a Food & Drink Fair. I went there with a friend and guess what I was so impressed at what we saw. “GTBank giving back” GTBank encouraged young food business to showcase ‎what they can do. They empowered young startups and inspired a lot of young people who would want to venture into something like that. Everything done was of high standards, done with a touch of excellence and class. I was indeed Inspired. Asides the exhibition & sales part of the event, the GTBank Food & Drink Fair also featured culinary experiences such as food and wine tastings, cooking master classes with renowned International and Nigerian chefs such as Marcus Samuelsson (Chopped Judge), Raphael Duntoye (La Petite Maison, London), Tiyan Alile (Culinary Academy), Alex Oke (Alex Cooks Food), Gbubemi Fregene (Chef Fregz), Ozoz Sokoh (Kitchen Butterfly), Uzo Orimalade (Uzo’s Food Labs), Atim Ukoh (Afrolems), Iquo Ukoh (1Q Foodplatter), Michael Adé Elẹgbẹdé (Chef Elegbede) as well as outdoor grills, thrilling entertainment, kiddies activity and Baking classes. Well done GTBANK. Tokunbo Fasoro for BI Empowerment team Share on: WhatsApp Post Views: 1
