A new stage play which will be performed this November as been described as one with intrigues, suspense, passion and countless life’s lessons. NO PAIN, NO GAIN – Tokunbo Fasoro

Last week Monday, I left my house, situated at a certain area in Lagos by 5:27am. I had a training commencing at 8:00am, but I was stuck in traffic. I did not get to my destination in Victoria Island until 9:10am. I spent close to three and a half hours in traffic!! I looked out of my window and I saw people just like me who do this 5 or 6 times a week, I thought to myself, “Will I be doing this again tomorrow?” That was when I realized that for many of them on the street, it was a Yes. They had no choice. There was a reward at the end of it all. You can call it profit or salary, depending on the destination, but the point I am trying to make from this is “No Pain No Gain” My mind also flashed back to my aerobics class and the trainer who will never let us have any rest. Poroku Oluwaseyi is the CEO and Founder of SketchStage, a web design business he runs in Lagos. He had his primary and secondary school in Lagos. He attended Bowen University in Osun state and obtained a BSc in business administration. After which he went for different interviews, but got no job. Wrote a lot of job examinations but got nowhere with that, he was so eager to get a job that he became so depressed, but he always had a flair for web design, so he decided to go into web design training which lasted for 6months. After which he ventured into the IT world and acquired a diploma in web design. Little did he know it wasn’t that easy, after months of searching for a client, no fruit yielded so went back to the drawing board, learnt more on his own, discovered his selling point, worked for three IT training schools where he got his first job of 25000 naira. Wednesday was a great day at Pitman Training Lagos with Mrs. Abimbola Soluade and her team. I was invited to come in and share my story with the participants. I spoke on how I struggled through my childhood and the many obstacles I faced trying to get an education. I told them that the only reason I was able to meander those dark moments was through GHARP. Lol!… I am sure you are wondering what ‘GHARP’ means. God Factor- Never ignore the power of prayers, it kept me going. Hardwork- I kept putting my best into everything I did. Association- I surrounded myself with people who supported me and helped me grow. Great mentors. Resilience- I was persistent and determined to succeed so I kept on pushing. Never give up. Positivity- I had to get rid of negative thoughts and negative people around me. Some day, I would share my story on this platform… Watchout!!! The participants were also excited to have Opeyemi Omotosho and Titi Olono, who are my friends and classmates from secondary school share from their wealth of experiences as well.
