Elon Reeve Musk is a South African-born Canadian-American business magnate, Engineer and inventor. He is the founder of SpaceX; co-founder, CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors; co-founder and chairman of SolarCity, co-chairman of OpenAI; co-founder of Zip2; and founder of X.com which merged with PayPal of Confinity. In addition to his primary business pursuits, he has also envisioned a high-speed transportation system known as the Hyperloop, and has proposed a VTOL supersonic jet aircraft with electric fan propulsion, known as the Musk electric jet.Musk is also chairman of the Musk Foundation, which focuses its philanthropic efforts on providing solar-power energy systems in disaster areas.

Musk started out in 1995with his brother, Kimbal, where they started Zip2, a web software company, with their father’s money which was later acquired by Compaq with Musk getting a percentage from the sale.

In March 1999, Musk co-founded X.com, an online financial services and e-mail payment company, with money he got from the sale of Zip2. One year later, the company merged with Confinity, which had a money transfer service called PayPal which was later acquired by eBay but before its sale, Musk was the company’s largest shareholder.

After that, Musk went into several other businesses: Space X, Tesla Motors, Solar city, Hyperloop and in December 2015, he announced the creation of Open AI.

Zukerberg started facebookfrom his Harvard dormitory room, but the inspiration for Facebook come from the prep school from which Zuckerberg graduated in 2002. It published its own student directory, “The Photo Address Book”, which students referred to as “The Facebook” just like we have in Secondary schools in Nigeria “Slumbook” Zuckerberg decided to spread it to other schools, with the help of his then roommate and now Co- Founder Dustin Moskovitz.
